GMR Update
April 2012
Yearend Review
April 30, 2012 will mark the end of the Base Year for our new 5-year contract with NLM. We have been working hard to tailor our spending to the contract year since we will no longer be able to carry funds over to the next year. Our efforts to get subcontract proposals by March 1st have paid off, since we will be able to fund several new projects beginning May 1, 2012, which is the beginning of Option Year 01.
We are also adapting to a new naming convention for each year of the contract. Year one is now referred to as the Base Year and the four remaining years on the contract will be referred to as Option Year 01 through Option Year 04. We hope this will not cause confusion as we move forward with planning for Option Year 01 of the contract.

Funding:
Option Year 01 (May 2012 – April 2013)
The GMR budget for Option Year 01 of the contract is still pending but will be finalized by late April, 2012. A modest amount of funding will be available for smaller awards in the following areas:
- Community Preparedness Award
- Exhibit Awards
- Outreach Express Awards
- Planning and Assessment Awards
- Technology Improvement Awards
The GMR plans to fund at least one Target Outreach subcontract in Optional Year 1 for up to $14,000, and if additional funds become available, we will fund both Major Outreach (up to $25,000) and Target Outreach (up to $14,000) subcontracts for projects beginning on May 1, 2012. Please see the GMR Funding pages for more details: http://nnlm.gov/gmr/funding/ .
NN/LM Outreach Portal
All GMR funding recipients--except those with only Exhibit Awards--are now required to use the Online Contract Reports system (OCR) to enter and submit project reports. If you have any questions about the OCR and/or need to obtain an account for a funded project, contact your GMR program coordinator or the GMR Portal Administrator, Jacqueline Leskovec, Outreach, Planning and Evaluation Coordinator. Eventually, all outreach projects and activities will be reported via the Portal. Please continue to submit your training activities to the Outreach Activity Reporting Form (OARF) database and your Exhibit Tally Sheets to Holly Ann Burt, Outreach and Exhibits Coordinator .
